Thoroughbred and Standardbred

Thoroughbred and Standardbred Day Presented by Queensland Off-the-Track is a race day style event where the two versatile racing breeds will compete for the sought-after Champion of their Breed Title that are up for grabs on the first day of Equestrian Competition at the Ekka.

This is one of the most Glamourous days on Ekka’s schedule with the Horse Handlers presenting their animals to the judges in their Formal Race Attire. While on the other side of the arena the Fashions on the Field are being judged.

Please note, all horses entering the Brisbane Showgrounds MUST be Hendra vaccinated in accordance with the RNA’s Horse and Arena, and Veterinary, Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Committees regulations.
